Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. Her most prominent role is that of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The show ended after its seventh season. Sedgwick's role as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick received a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Madeline Wuntch on Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other film roles include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) as well as Cameron Crowe's singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Phenomenon (1996) The Cooking (2000), Secondhand Lions (2003), The Game Plan (2007), and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who is a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick as a venture investor. Her mother was Jewish. Her father was an Episcopalian who was of English origin. Sedgwick has stated that she's Jewish and has been a participant in Passover meals.
